Saturn is Father Time, and is largely associated with stability, practical efforts, limitations, control and karma. Capricorn is an earth sign associated with reputation, goals, aims for career and success, and largely corresponds to the political and financial structures of our material world.

With Saturn in Capricorn we work hard to achieve aims and climb out from the depths of the sea to the top of the mountain.

Saturn Retrograde in Capricorn reminds us to take a step back, slow down and to look back at the path we have taken to climb up that mountain and to recognize how things are going, what is not working in our lives, and how our decisions over time have manifested the world around us. Saturn Retrograde in Capricorn demands that we take responsibility for what we have created and to make changes and corrections to the errors we’ve made so far.

What is holding you back from your higher aims in life? What fears are keeping you from accomplishing your best? Who or what is holding you back?

If you’ve been heading in one direction and are not clear if that’s the path you really want to take, Saturn Retrograde is a great time to reevaluate your direction and to redefine what exactly your goals and aims are. You may resign one path you’ve been treading a long time and head down another road.

This is the time to remember that what you sow, so shall you reap. What you deserve is what is earned.

We are also likely to see the reputations of famous people and political figures could go through some rough times as information not previously known to the public comes out in the open changing people’s perceptions.

Saturn retrograde does not indicate a free lunch, it requires real responsibility and facing where you may have been lacking responsibility. Those that have been less than honest as they climb toward their goals, could see a reckoning.

We are also reminded that if you procrastinate and lose track of goals that matter in your life, it is more likely you will spiral into negative mindset. Extra effort to create positivity is required now. Instead of dwelling on the negative it is wiser to acknowledge the faults and work on finding solutions.

Saturn retrograde in Capricorn also signifies a time of learning the hard way, through trial and error, can lead to bigger rewards eventually. Patience is required. While Saturn is Retrograde we can expect to see more divisiveness. As people feel restricted by the powers that be, we can expect resistance to what is imposed upon us. Our differences will need to be reevaluated, reminding us that we need to change course if we want to make life better.

A deeper look at the consequences, deeper issues and restrictions of world affairs, politics, business and finances is suggested now.

Politicians and those in positions of authority that use, push and emphasize social causes as tools to strengthen their political angle are likely to find that the public will be more scrutinizing to manipulative methods. But because of this, we could see politicians and media influence double down to push harder for their goals of rule and governance to be realized.

As Father Time, Saturn (Chronos) asks: Have you been valuing your time? Looking back, how could you have used your time better? What would you do over again if you could redo it? What mistakes did you make, and what did you learn? What karma have you created?

Political and financial concerns are in focus as Saturn stations Retrograde, which indicates big changes and a turning of tables could gain in intensity.

Saturn Retrograde also reminds us to pay our debts, financially and karmically. But we also have to remember that we are in a system designed by debt, so how is that even possible? If everyone pays back their debts, the economy would essentially collapse. If you haven’t watched The Secret of Oz, you may find brushing up on your financial awareness and history of finance is worthwhile now.

Saturn Retrograde and cosmic companion Pluto in Capricorn remind us that reality is complex when we look more deeply at the big picture of what’s really going on in the world. We are reminded that by looking at the hard stuff that makes us uncomfortable, we can then make more responsible choices to create changes that transform our world.

Saturn Retrograde indicates that we need to take the time to think things through and recreate new goals that are better aligned with more positive, meaningful, impactful aims we have in life. We need to consider the whole picture.

On a more personal level, if you are one that is out of touch with your body and the earth, this is a good time to get reacquainted with the physical world by exercising and spending more time in natural, earthy environments.
