The hot summer is in full swing as we are in Leo season for the first part of August.
This month I’m not using The Housewives Tarot. I know a lot of you like that deck a lot, but I wanted to try out The Grand Etteilla Egyptian Gypsies Tarot Deck for the Monthly TarotScopes for fun. This deck has some very unique qualities making for interesting interpretations. I talk more about this months TarotScopes and The Grand Etteilla deck below…

For The August 2020 TarotScopes I’m using the Grand Etteilla Tarot deck printed by Grimaud.
This is an interesting deck with quite a few variations in the artwork from the more familiar classic Rider Waite Tarot deck that almost all modern decks are based on.
The Grand Etteilla has all the 78 cards of the classic tarot deck but they are ordered and numbered very differently with many meanings and correspondences that are quite distinct this deck. In this reproduction, each card also has example meanings written directly on the card, which was unique to this deck at the time of it’s original production in the late 18th Century.
I am glad I got this deck last summer. Because of it variations the Grand Etteilla deck pushes me to think outside the box and see another perspective with the tarot.
Interpretations this month consider the traditional tarot meanings in combination with some of the unique meanings associated with The Grand Etteilla.
