It’s officially the Autumn Equinox when the Sun enters Libra on September 22, 2020 at 9:30 am ET.
The Sun will be in Libra until October 22, 2020 at 6:59 pm ET.
Happy Birthday month to all Libras! When the Sun returns to where it was when you were born, it’s called a Solar Return.
Whenever the Sun is in any sign, it represents becoming more conscious and aware of tapping into the best traits of that sign, so they can shine through our personality.
Truth, justice, balance, diplomacy, fairness, equality, and mutual respect are key associations to Libra.
Venus rules Libra and The Goddess of Love reminds us that relationships and partnerships are a primary focus of Libra. When two people join together with love, consideration, appreciation, value and mutual respect for one another it demonstrates the best of the Libra archetypal symbolism. This can be an enlightening time for love interests to appreciate and value one another more than usual and to bring more romance into your life. If you’re single an interest in a partnership could pique your interest during this period.
However, as we can see demonstrated in the world today, there is great conflict between people and divisions are being pushed. Relationships are strained in a lot of ways. Many find it difficult to see and feel the connections between themselves and others, as divisiveness is being emphasized, even encouraged. There are power issues between people as egos and identities are in conflict with Mars Retrograde in Aries in difficult position to Jupiter, Pluto and Saturn in Capricorn. A lack of priority in creating harmony between people is clear as we watch the media. Fighting fire with fire often seems to just make a bigger fire, and everyone gets burned.
When the pendulum swings too far one way, it naturally wants to swing the other to find balance again. When people are too extreme in how they handle their egos and identities, it naturally creates pushback from others.
With the Sun in Libra we are reminded that people can change. Perspectives can change. The Sun encourages awareness. As we wake up and see the light, and truth of what’s going on, we become more aware of what needs to happen to bring solutions.
Good relationships are never based on satisfying the ego and being selfish and self centered. They are based on mutual respect and consideration for the well being of the other person, of the one you love. The ego closes and takes, love opens and gives. Libra isn’t about focusing on what you get for yourself. It’s about consideration for the experience of another, just as important as your own. Good relationships are where you help each other shine and experience the best.
Opening your heart to giving and receiving love is recommended now. If your heart is closed and you feel disconnected from sharing love with others in your life, you may wish to learn more about how to balance your heart chakra. The yoga practice of sun salutations can help you find more balance within yourself so you are more open to giving and receiving from the heart.
As an air sign, Libra also reminds us that honest communication is best for healthy relationships. If your relationships are out of balance, it will often be revealed in how you communicate. If you speak to one another respectfully you’ll get a much different result than if you speak in an aggressive, angry, nasty and bitter way, of course. If your relationships are a mess, if you’re fighting all the time, you’ll need to take a different approach for things to change. Calm, rational, caring, receptive ways of communicating are recommended to manifest positive change.
When the scales of Libra noticeably tip one way or the other, effort to manifest a healthy, happy balance for each other needs to become the priority to come back to center.
But of course, some people are together that really shouldn’t be. Many are in relationships for the wrong reasons, and sometimes there is not really any love or appreciation in a relationship anymore. Often it is money and dependency that holds people together, even when they know they don’t have much in common and the spark of love has fizzled to almost nothing. You can often gauge the truth of a relationship by asking, “If I had enough money to freely do as I choose, would I really be with this person?” The answer to that question will tell you the truth about your relationship. If someone is too selfish to compromise and seek mutual balance, what kind of one sided relationship is it? Is love and respect really there?
If this is the case for you, the Sun in Libra can wake you up to the truth of your relationship so you can get honest about it and hopefully find a solution to improve your life.
Speaking of value and money, did you know that during ancient Roman times the scales of Libra were used to weigh and measure units of money to determine value? The abbreviation of lb representing a pound, has its origins from Libra denoted as the £ symbol.
The Sun in Libra is also an excellent time to be creative and a great way to express intelligence. Libra loves symmetry and balance, greatly appreciates beauty and the arts, and resonates with all that is harmonious and peaceful.
Decisiveness is not Libra’s best suit when there are a lot of factors to consider. By seeking the right balance it can be a lengthy process coming to a conclusion when weighing the pros and cons of a situation. But with patience, making decisions with the core value of truth and balance can lead to best results overall.
