Mars in Cancer

Mars enters Cancer on May 15, 2019 at 11:09 pm ET.

Mars the athletic, warrior spirit in Cancer can have people being extra defensive, like a mother bear defending her cubs. There is a strong protective quality to Mars in Cancer, and a sense of pride, especially for family honour and dignity.

Mars in Cancer is like the harsh spikes of a cactus protecting the gentle, nurturing watery interior of the plant or as an armor protecting sensitive, vulnerable flesh within.

Protecting and defending the the home with force corresponds to Mars in Cancer. If you feel the need for a home security alarm system, this would be an appropriate time to get one.

If someone has their emotions harmed in any way, they could come back fighting with strong reactions. A short temper can lead to harsh emotional blows so be careful when you’re hot under the collar to consider how strongly emotions can be wounded quickly but have lasting impact.

Be on the lookout for road rage, especially by those that are very protective of their beloved cars.

Physical stress and tension and headaches are highlighted especially for those that tend to worry or have anxiety issues. Hot showers or time in a warm sauna or hot tub are recommended to alleviate muscle tension.

Swimming and watersports are indicated for expending excess energy and fitness goals.

Empowerment is accessible when you are able to put energy into caring for yourself. It’s a good time to start working out at home to build strength. It’s also a good time to trust to your instincts. Your feelings can give you strength and courage to change your life. Your inner world and your desires have power to change the external world around you.

In relationships, passionate physical and emotional energy can make for the most sensuous lovemaking. Strong feelings and reactions about pregnancies and abortion can be associated with Mars in Cancer.

Pluto Retrograde in Capricorn

Pluto is currently Retrograde in Capricorn from April 30 to October 4, 2020.

Pluto is the slowest moving planet and has been in Capricorn since January 2008 and influences a period of an entire generation. Pluto will be in Capricorn until November 19, 2024.

During this period, Pluto stations Retrograde every year.

Pluto, of the Roman pantheon, rules over the underworld, and is associated with the Greek Hades. Pluto is the ruler of Scorpio and rules over the unconscious, deeply buried emotions, secrets and the hidden truths. Pluto is also most notably associated with the Phoenix symbolism of rising from the ashes, transformed, changed, renewed and reborn after death and destruction.

Pluto in Capricorn can bring a lot of fear, and Retrograde encourages us to release fear and purge negativity from our lives by acknowledging and addressing the roots and causes of our fears. Whether it be negative people, ideologies, or financial burdens and debt that are holding you back, this is the time to remove the sludge from your life so you can become more empowered.

Pluto also rules the 8th house, governed by Scorpio and is concerned with wealth, banking, taxes, stocks, bonds, insurance, wills, inheritances. We could certainly see issues of money laundering, tax evasion and other sneaky money matters and dirty business deals come out in the open. Pluto also rules sexual perversions to the level of abuse so we could see even more of those types of secrets get revealed, especially regarding well known and famous people. Remember what happened precisely when Jupiter entered Scorpio and all the abuses started to get revealed in Hollywood like clockwork. Pluto rules over the Scorpio water sign and is associated with the deep, dark swampy lagoon type of depths of reality. Yikes!

Pluto in Capricorn doesn’t exactly come across as positive, but that’s reality. Our world is a grand chessboard of positive and negative and it’s all part of the whole package.

Capricorn is an earth sign and is of course associated with our goals and achievements in the material world and money matters, social class, reputation and public awareness, with a particular focus on leadership, officials and authority figures in high places, from business and banking to political structures, as well as religious orders and military powers.

As we have seen there has been a lot of messiness in the political world these days, but that is exactly what Pluto will emphasize in Capricorn. Pluto is associated with the crumbling of the old system to establish and transform what has been hidden deep in the dark underbelly of the political world and higher echelons of power in our society. Pluto reduces and destroys to recreate, restructure and rebuild.

With Pluto going Retrograde we are going to see another power switch, a turning of the tables from the direction things have been heading politically. Those in positions of authority are likely to have much revealed about their dirty handiwork.

When we see a planet like Pluto going forward and retrograde, it is a cycle of change and development that takes a long time. Pluto wants to the know the truth and is a sleuth ready and willing to investigate and go to any ends to find the truth of what’s really going on. Digging up lots of the nastiest dirt behind the scenes is inevitable, and most notably the way the news has been going for years, there is plenty of evidence that Pluto is taking charge of reconstructing the political realm and it certainly is messy and heavy hitting stuff!

We are also likely to see more talk of the sneaky activity with technology giants, listening in, hidden records and getting deep into the personal, secret lives of people.

Pluto in Capricorn can be very revealing, so we can expect plenty of revelations to come to the surface as Pluto goes deeper than ever into the abyss of layers behind the scenes.

Pluto Retrograde in Capricorn is sure to break up patterns and create dramatic shifts in our perspective of reality. Events in the real world have far reaching consequences. Pluto can be associated with the eruption and explosive energy of a volcano or likened to the Eye of Sauron in the Lord of the Rings. It’s that kind of massive power. Pluto is the higher octave of Mars, the warrior.

We could see more earth changes, earthquakes, volcanoes and the like impact, shift and alter the physical landscape while Pluto is in Capricorn.

Pluto also rules oil, the valuable black gold that keeps our society running. Perhaps we will see events that impacts prices during Pluto Retrograde.

While Pluto is Retrograde in Capricorn it is a recommended time to consider ways to release your fears and anxieties and to dig deep into the Freudian and Jungian considerations of the psyche. This is the time to look at ways to transform your world so you can take a more empowered leadership role and authority over your life.

Jupiter Retrograde in Sagittarius

Jupiter stations Retrograde in Sagittarius on April 10, 2019 at 1:02 pm ET.

Now Jupiter goes Retrograde, which brings us into a more reflective period. Observing our past to learn from the lessons and the wisdom that has been gained through history will be increasingly important.

Jupiter in Sagittarius signifies a more philosophical perspective to find deeper meaning for our lives. If you’ve been feeling like you haven’t been moving in the right direction to expand your experience of life, getting in tune with your vision is recommended. If you haven’t made a vision board, this would be a good time to review, reflect and reconsider what you really want to do with your life so you can live with purpose.

Immigration and issues of race have become even bigger topics with Jupiter in Sagittarius, of course. Now we get to look back at what has been happening and develop wiser perspectives. Jupiter in Sagittarius speaks to media, knowledge and information that is spread far and wide. Jupiter wants the truth, but bias and subjective opinion and beliefs have definitely been getting in the way of objective reality. Jupiter Retrograde can bring in the reality checks necessary to get closer to the real truth.

Jupiter in Sagittarius also speaks to institutions of higher learning. With Jupiter in Sagittarius we have also seen the unethical practices of the rich and famous getting special treatment with university admissions. Perhaps we will see justice and karma prioritized with Jupiter Retrograde now, to deal with what’s been happening.

In terms of learning for your own life, this can be a great time to get into reading more on the subjects that interest you most. You may wish to reflect on the possibility of going back to school, or taking classes that will bring more meaning and satisfaction to your life.

Beliefs are likely to be reconsidered and changed while Jupiter is Retrograde. A whole new perspective on life is likely to shift what you believe about our larger reality.

Jupiter Retrograde in Sagittarius also speaks strongly to History and what we can learn from the past.  Just as Jupiter in Sagittarius speaks to institutions of higher learning, it also speaks to potential changes for religious institutions, churches, temples and the like.

We could see more issues of travel with Jupiter in Sagittarius, especially long distance travel and air travel.

If you have fears about other cultures, are scared to travel because of culture shock, this could be a good time to have a look at where those fears are rooted. Trying exotic cuisines, clothes and jewelery from foreign cultures can teach you a lot and open you up to greater understanding of the uniqueness and beauty the larger world has to offer. Getting to understand beliefs, customs and interpretations from around the world is recommended to help bring you greater understanding of people and places. This would be a great time to enjoy watching episodes of House Hunters International. I love that show!

Jupiter is the ancient ruler of Pisces. The Modern ruler of Pisces is Neptune. With Jupiter Retrograde we will see a revamp of beliefs. What you may believe to be true could be challenged by different information giving you an all new perspective on life. Sometimes it’s hard to let go of long held beliefs that have become a part of our identity and views on life, but prioritizing the truth will help you gain the insights that really matter most.

Now that spring is here and summer is on its way, this would be a great time to take some time to enjoy wide open spaces and get in touch with the energy of the world around you. Grabbing your camera and having some me time would be a great idea!

Jupiter is in Sagittarius from November 8, 2018 to December 2, 2019.

Jupiter is stationing Retrograde at 24 degrees of Sagittarius on April 10, 2019, and will go direct again at 14 degrees of Sagittarius on August 11, 2019. If you have any planets in your natal chart that are in these degrees this period can be especially relevant for your life changes.
